Amancio González, resident of León, and Toño Patallo, native of the island, are the authors of this sculpture, perhaps the one most conducive to public interaction, as it is the only one in the Sculpture Park that has a function beyond enriching and beautifying the capital of Fuerteventura: serving as a bookcrossing point. It was inaugurated in 2017 under the title Yo también leo and combines art and literature in equal parts, as it is as much sculpture as library. Its basic reason for being is precisely to become a place where anyone can bring their books so that whoever wants them can take them and enjoy them. A cycle that, well managed by citizens, will never end. Sharing books, sharing letters, stories and tales. Maintaining their glow, rekindling it, protecting it. Two adults flank the large bookshelf, absorbed in reading, lost in who knows what worlds, while a little one tries to reach the shelf to get hold of a copy. The sculpture, made of corten steel and wood, has, moreover, another peculiarity: it is mobile. The idea is that it should not always remain in the same place, but rather move, rotate through the municipality of Puerto del Rosario and bring to all corners something so universal, so ours, as letters and art.
