Mexico is the motherland of Carlos Monge, creator of this iron sculpture that stands out, apart from its dimensions, for the vivid red color with which the artist decided to paint it. It is the only one of the seven works from the IX Sculpture Symposium, held in 2015, made from this material. It is an extremely abstract sculpture in which meanings are found only in the eye of the beholder. An inclined question mark, a spiral, a mouth that opens... Or perhaps it means nothing but simply aspires to delight us with the play of tonalities produced by its irregular surface in concert with the incidence of sunlight. Playful and dynamic, the works that the Mexican artist has left on the island all have a characteristic rhythm that derives from the undulating forms he creates.
